April 7 WORLD HEALTH RUN – Join wherever you are.
We are less than 6 weeks away from our 1st Annual WORLD HEALTH RUN! Join us!
This week we are raising awareness of the number of women who die in childbirth. Every day, about 800 women die due to complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Maternal mortality is a health indicator that shows very wide gaps between rich and poor, both between countries and within them. (http://www.who.int)
The 2018 WORLD HEALTH RUN is being held on April 7 (World Health Day). CUGH's participation in this event enables member institutions and student groups to raise funds and awareness for a US or international health-related project, support CUGH global activities, and build the conversation around health equity, globally. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rotary clubs, the National Peace Corps Association, and Peace Care.
Register to run at www.WorldHealthRun.org. EVERY registration benefits CUGH. When you register to run as an individual, make sure you designate CUGH for your contribution to further your impact!
Your club or institution can benefit your selected project AND CUGH through recruiting area runners! Now is the time, as well, to begin thinking about WORLD HEALTH RUN 2019. Find out how your group can join at www.worldhealthrun.org/host-a-whr
