Call for New Members - Global Health Operations Committee
We hope that this finds you well and about to begin an enjoyable and restful summer. As co-chairs of the CUGH Enabling Systems (ENSYS) committee, we are reaching out to request your help and insight.
As you may know, the ENSYS committee was formed several years ago to help address the wide array of operational challenges (sending funds, travel safety, etc.) that Global Health work can involve. To make the committee’s focus more explicit, its name is being changed to the Global Health Operations committee.
We are seeking new members for the committee and ask for your help. Please circulate this call for committee membership to your colleagues whose work focus on/include the operational and administrative aspects of running academic global health programs, to encourage their participation. The operational complexities of Global Health work continue to change and having fresh perspectives on how CUGH can help in this area will be critical to the committee’s success.
Committee members must be CUGH members (either as an individual or through affiliation with a CUGH Institutional Member). Committee member responsibilities include participating in approximately bi-monthly committee conference calls and assisting with the design and implementation of related programming. The associated time commitment is estimated at 1-3 hours per month, and the membership term is 3 years.
To date, the committee’s programming has consisted mainly of a themed session at the annual conference or adjacent satellite sessions. We are open to change, however, and determining the most effective format and content for future committee efforts will be a central focus of the committee’s work.
If interested in joining the committee, please send a statement of interest (maximum 250 words) and a short biosketch (maximum 250 words, no CVs) to email@example.com no later than EOD Friday, August 3.
We are happy to answer any questions you might have about this, and our contact information is provided below. We hope to hear from you and appreciate your time and attention!
