Hofstra University is a dynamic private institution of higher education where undergraduate and graduate students can choose from offerings in liberal arts and sciences, business, communication, teacher education, engineering and applied science, health professions and human services, nursing and physician assistant studies, honors studies, law and medicine. The mission of the School of Health Professions and Human Services is to educate students in the theory and practices of their specialized area of study, while providing a strong foundation in the natural, social and behavioral sciences. Using an interdisciplinary approach, partnered with arts and sciences, medicine, education, business, communication and law, the School of Health Professions and Human Services offers programs that are responsive to the dynamic relationships among scientific research, policy and therapeutic practice in health care, community and educational settings. Through competency-based instruction, field experience and research training, students are educated to become effective and compassionate clinicians, evidence-based practitioners, policymakers, managers and advocates who promote health equity.
