Right now, congressional offices are making decisions on supporting funding for federal programs for fiscal year 2024, and you can make a difference. Contact your representative today to advocate for funding to combat AMR and strengthen the ID and HIV workforce:

  • Urge your House Representative to sign on to a letter by March 23 in support of $50 million in funding to implement the Bio-Preparedness Workforce Pilot Program, which, thanks to advocacy from IDSA & HIVMA members, was authorized in late 2022 and paves the way for ID and HIV medical professionals to receive loan repayment. The pilot program now needs to receive funding through the federal appropriations cycle to be implemented. The letter is being led by Reps. Crow (D-CO), Burgess (R-TX), Trahan (D-MA), Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Miller-Meeks (R-IA).
  • Urge your House Representative to sign on to a letter by March 23 urging the congressional appropriations committees to increase funding for programs that combat antimicrobial resistance. This letter is being led by Reps. Buddy Carter (R-GA) and Chellie Pingree (D-ME).
