PRESS RELEASE | FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

If reports are true and the White House is discrediting Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, then the executive branch of the US government is engaging in another, shameful attack against a public servant doing their duty.

Rather than attacking Dr. Fauci, the White House needs to examine its own, egregious inaction in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and immediately change course to follow what other governments (Taiwan, South Korea, New Zealand etc.) have done to dramatically reduce their incidence and mortality rates from SARS-CoV-2.

Over 135,000 people have died in the US from this virus. Most of them would still be alive today if not for the uncoordinated and ineffectual response from the federal government. Despite skyrocketing numbers, the White House is still failing to take the strong leadership role and implement the evidence-based approaches scientists like Dr. Fauci have been advocating for.

Dr. Keith Martin, Executive Director of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health in Washington DC said, “American citizens are continuing to pay with their lives for the While House’s failures. Medical professionals across the country need to stand up and defend Dr. Fauci and other public servants who are speaking out in support of proven evidence-based approaches that save lives. Scientists need to stand together in defense of science but most importantly in the defense of people’s lives.”
