Advocacy and Communications Committee
CUGH Members interested in joining this Committee should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order to promote the role of universities in global health, CUGH understands that it requires a clear voice capable of articulating issues, defining pathways to solutions, and suggesting policies. This committee will lay the framework for improving the dissemination and collaboration amongst the members.
The Advocacy and Communications Committee will draft the direction and plans of action to best support universities in their teaching, research and service activities aimed at improving health worldwide. The goal is to advocate for the improvement and growth of university-based global health programs’ capacity to contribute to reducing health disparities globally and to develop human capital and strengthen institutions worldwide. In order to achieve this, the Advocacy and Communications Committee guides CUGH Secretariat with budget and policy action items that are pertinent to members and the global health community.
CUGH identifies the importance of effective communication and the dissemination of information to make the university a transforming force in global health. The Committee is to oversee and facilitate all forms of communication including newsletters, listservs and website. The website will be a virtual space and networking site that shares crucial information relevant global health information.
