Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB)
FIVDB was founded in 1975 in Bangladesh. Our mission is to give women, men, and children of Bangladesh a greater voice, reduce their vulnerability, increase their use of citizenship rights, and help them enhance their quality of life. To that end, FIVDB pursues educational, social, and economic capacity building and social-organization approaches. It works to strengthen social protection and safety networks and participates in national and international outreach and advocacy. We have an international affiliate in the United States of America called FIVDB USA, which provides technical assistance and capacity building expertise as well as financial support. FIVDB focuses on six core programs: empowerment and inclusion, education, health, climate change, economic development, and the Rohingya refugee response project.
