Global Health and Public Health Majors and Minors at 411 Universities, 2019–2020

Congratulations to Dr. Caryl Waggett and Dr. Kathryn H. Jacobsen, Chairs of our Subcommittee on Master's and Undergraduate Degrees in Global Health, for their recent publication in Annals of Global Health. The study describes the types of US institutions that are supporting undergraduate major and minor global health programs and related fields as well as those of public health and related programs. Other efforts are underway to explore GHS offerings in other regions of the world.

The US Defunding and Departing from the WHO is a Threat to Global Security

On June 15th, 2020, Johns Hopkins Nursing published “The US Defunding and Departing from the WHO is a Threat to Global Security.” This piece was written by Dr. Michele Barry, Chair of the Board of CUGH and Director of the Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford University, Dr. Patricia Davidson, Dean School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University and Co-Secretary-General World Health Organization Collaborating Centers for Nursing and Midwifery, and Dr. Keith Martin, Executive Director for CUGH. Overall, this article underscores the importance of the World Health Organization not only to the United States, but also worldwide.
