This is an invitation to join the Trainee Advisory Committee (TAC) subcommittee of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). The Trainee Advisory Committee (TAC) is composed of 25 student trainees in global health who advocate for and contribute student perspectives to the workings of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH). In doing so, we aim to advance CUGH’s mission “to improve the well-being of people and the planet through education, research, service, and advocacy."
Upcoming CUGH Events
Every year more than 100,000 Americans are shot. Of these, 30,000 people die. This is a preventable, public health disaster and the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) is addressing it with a simple, non-partisan call for action. Below, please find our Gun Control Tracker that shows if current US congresspersons are supporters or opponents of gun safety regulations.
CUGH strongly opposes the US administration’s announcement this week that it is freezing all funds for Official Development Assistance (ODA) for the fiscal year 2018-2019. ODA has historically received bipartisan support because most Republican and Democratic lawmakers see this as a way to effectively support US security and economic interests. Legislators have also agreed that this is morally the correct thing to do. Freezing aid undermines these interests.

Malnutrition in its many forms is a major contributor to the global burden of disease and disability and has gained prominence on global and national policy agendas. This is illustrated by several resolutions, goals and targets from the World Health Assembly, the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement being implemented in over 60 countries, the existence of nutrition targets within the Sustainable Development Goals and increased investments by donors and foundations.
