BS in Public Health with a Concentration in Global Health
Public health students in the Global Health concentration will learn about health conditions that affect people around the world and associated challenges that make these issues difficult to address such as poverty, cultural beliefs, and population dynamics. This concentration will prepare students to work both locally and globally by studying the effects of disease and learning how to plan and implement public health programs.
Students enrolled in the Global Health concentration are required to take four globally-focused courses: Food, Water, and Air, Non-Communicable Diseases, Infectious Diseases, and Global Health Cases plus two electives. Domestic and international field experiences are available to these students. Additionally, undergraduate students may opt to participate in the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Global Health Interest Group.
