Certificate in Global Health for Graduate Students
This fifteen credit-hour certificate program is available to any degree seeking or non-degree seeking student enrolled at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Our Certificate in Global Health is designed to offer a global perspective on public health building upon students’ technical skills (e.g. epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, etc.). Of the fifteen credit hours, only one three credit-hour class is required, GHS 600: Fundamentals of Global Health. The remaining twelve credits are electives and should reflect students’ specific interests. Our most popular courses are International NGO Management, Maternal and Child Health in Resource-Poor Settings, and Refugee and Immigrant Health. Students may enroll in this program at any time; however, courses begin at the start of each academic semester. This program can be completed 100% online.
Upon completion, the Certificate in Global Health is issued by UAB and will appear on the student’s academic transcript.
