In addition to the basic concepts of global medicine, students examine specific issues including malaria, tuberculosis, tropical diseases, HIV/AIDS, refugee healthcare, and maternal and child health. International course offerings grant students the opportunity to experience another culture and lifestyle while evaluating aspects of the health care, population health needs, and the differences between a host country’s systems and challenges and those of the United States.
