The Global Medicine (GMED) Program is a longitudinal, four-year curriculum designed to provide medical students with the skills and understanding required to develop a practice focusing on global health. Graduates of the program will have a greater experience and understanding of the global health issues that face us in the 21st century and will have careers as clinicians, educators, policy makers or researchers.

The Program is a competitive application-based program which accepts 12 students per year. Students must be admitted to the UIC College of Medicine for consideration.
