The faculty of Medicine and Surgery of Jazeera University provides a six year program delivered in twelve semesters for undergraduate medicine leading to the award of bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). The program requires a completion of 394 credit hours in the medical schools plus one year of an internship. The program is designed to be delivered in four phases:
• General University Requirements (foundation year (Semester 1 and 2)
• Preclinical phase: Two years of basic medical science (Semester 3 to 6)
• Clinical phase: two years of clinical medicine (Semester 7 to 10)
• Internship year: interns rotate two months in each of the six departments namely Internal medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and gynecology, Community medicine and Electives
