Join PEGASUS on October 29th from 5:00-6:00 PM ET for a virtual event, with Dr. Ingrid Waldron on the topic of Race, Place & Geographies of Disease in Indigenous & Black Communities. In this virtual event, Dr. Waldron will examine the larger socio-spatial processes that create disproportionate exposure and vulnerability to the harmful social, economic, and health impacts of environmental racism, climate change, and other public infrastructure inequalities in Indigenous and Black communities in Canada. Dr. Waldron’s presentation will include an overview of the interdisciplinary, multi-sectoral, multi-media, and multi-method approaches she has been using over the past several years to raise awareness about and address environmental racism and climate change impacts in Indigenous and Black communities and mobilize knowledge on these issues using documentary film, social and traditional media, mapping, workshops, and other public engagement events, and publications.
