Global Health Hackathon
CUGH-Pulitzer 2016 Global Health Video Competition Contestant (Advocacy Category)
The Baylor Global Innovation Center’s “hackathon” approach determined adequate solutions for low resources settings around the world. The hackathon began with strategically chosen healthcare leaders presenting current healthcare problems to all hackathon attendees. The attendees worked together to come up with innovative solutions that tackled the multi-faceted healthcare issues faced by individuals and communities around the world. The resulting concepts or prototypes were judged, and prizes were given to the top three ideas. Those ideas and concepts are now being turned into prototypes for real solutions to be implemented in the field.
