Global Health Studies Program

Program type:
Program description:

The Program in Global Health Studies supports the interdisciplinary Global Health minor, and encourages student involvement in Global Health both in and outside of the classroom. Through opportunities such as summer research fellowships, alumni mentoring programs, support for student groups and campus events, and conference travel funding, we provide the tools students need to engage with the many global health challenges that face our world today.

The Global Health Studies minor provides students with a strong foundation on the biological and socio-economic determinants of disparities in human health world-wide. The required core classes give students a background in major global health issues such as infectious diseases, malnutrition, bioethics, and mental health. Students receive elective credit from health-related courses from a range of other programs. All minors are also required to participate in a global health study abroad program or a comparable international experience.
